Archival-grade scanning means a minimum of 600 dots per inch on a professional flatbed scanner. Tiora uses various techniques for capturing photographs and documents. At this resolution, a scan retains sufficient detail for large-format printing and long-term preservation. Consumer scanning services typically scan at 300 dpi, which is insufficient for archival purposes.

Cloud storage keeps files alive. It provides no structure, no context, no ownership model and no succession plan. From collection through digitisation and return, every box is handled through a documented chain of custody. Approximately 30 days from the date your box is received. Timelines vary with volume and condition of materials. You are kept informed at every stage. Processing does not begin until your box arrives and the scope is confirmed.

Yes. Tiora supports long-term family custodianship and succession by allowing responsibility for an archive to pass to a nominated successor. The custody chain is documented and the Founder-to-Successor authority transfer is verified. You're welcome to discuss your Tiora Archive with your solicitor or estate adviser as part of your own planning.

If a successor has been nominated, the archive transfers to them through a deliberate verified future process. Transfer depends on account, identity and any applicable legal checks. This does not guarantee uninterrupted access or replace estate planning.

Access is defined by the account holder, not by family relationships. Ex-spouses, stepchildren, half-siblings and estranged relatives have only the access explicitly granted to them. As family circumstances change, access can be updated. Tiora uses roles and permissions to control who can manage, contribute to or view a family archive, and the account holder can nominate a successor.
